"Bernice Nauta (1991) is featured in A Mirror of All Others, a group exhibition at FannyFreytag_ alongside Ivalu Carlsen, Julia Creuheras, Marinka Reuten, and Elise van Staveren. The show explores identity as a fluid concept, shaped by presence, absence, and shifting perceptions. Drawing on Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy, the exhibition examines how our bodies act as both mirrors and gateways to the world. Nauta’s work spans drawing, film, painting, and installation, often questioning the instability of identity. Her 2019 exhibition HELLO ECHO at 1646, for instance, featured duplicated artworks and a mirrored facade, challenging notions of authorship and self-appropriation. She frequently engages with themes like stunt doubles and mythology to explore these ideas. Bernice Nauta graduated from the Sandberg Institute in 2022 and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in 2013. She exhibited at Liste Basel with CLC Gallery in June 2024. Recent exhibitions include The Plantriarchy, which was presented at Hotel Maria Kapel and Marres Museum in 2023."
