"Photokabine is the latest publication from Painpub, featuring Bernice Nauta’s work, photographed in photo booths across the Netherlands and Germany. At SUNSET, she presents a series of eye paintings and photographs that further explore her ongoing themes of identity and self-perception. Nauta’s multidisciplinary practice—spanning drawing, film, painting, installations, and storytelling—centers on the instability of identity. She often references stunt doubles, the myth of Echo and Narcissus, and self-appropriation. In her 2019 exhibition HELLO ECHO at 1646, she mirrored her own works and even the gallery’s facade, creating a visual echo that questioned authorship. Bernice Nauta graduated from the Sandberg Institute in 2022 and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in 2013. She exhibited at Liste Basel with CLC Gallery in June 2024. Recent exhibitions include The Plantriarchy, which was presented at Hotel Maria Kapel and Marres Museum in 2023."
