"On June 21, 2024, the ZP Fonds Foundation awarded the Zoltin Peeter Prize for the second time, this year to visual artist Hans Hoekstra (1983). The prize winner presents a series of drawings and smaller paintings in the room exhibition Hans Hoekstra – From My Window at Museum Belvédère. Hans Hoekstra (1983), originally from Friesland, now lives and works in Groningen. As a dedicated draftsman and painter, he has been steadily building his oeuvre for years. His focus lies on the everyday, the unremarkable, and the unnoticed— a plant on a windowsill, a street with cyclists, a backyard, rooftops of neighboring houses, or people sitting in a living room. By making them his subjects, Hoekstra elevates these fleeting moments from anonymity and obscurity, giving them a quiet, lasting presence."
